Very nice, but no fighting, so it's not suitable for the main site.

Worth playing though.

It's a real pity that it doesn't have any enemies, it doesn't look like it would be too hard to add them.

It looks pretty good. I'll give it a go later.

Phillip, why is this not suitable for the main site when it's clearly far higher quality than most of the maps that gets posted? With all due respect, I think you're kind of shooting yourself in the foot in a way.

RE: Wasteland: HL2: EP2
Addition to the main site follow a simple criteria: Must be set in the HL Universe (*), must have at least one weapon and one enemy.

The main site is not about qulaity, so even crappy maps get added.

* Yes, there are a couple of partial conversions but thye are sci-fi, so I added them.

RE: Wasteland: HL2: EP2
I know you restrict your scope because it's a one-man job but if it were me, I would reconsider the criteria. What about great maps that are set in the HL universe, with lots of enemies and action but decided to focus on an interesting twist such as the lack of weaponry? That would automatically make it exempt.

I personally think the site would be better if it was more of a 'hand picked' job, where all maps and mods might not fit the same criteria but would have your 'seal of approval' so to speak. It would raise the quality of the content of your site and in turn give it more credibility.

This map looks good and it's a shame to see it left off the main site when others of lesser quality get all the spotlight.

RE: Wasteland: HL2: EP2
This one is well worth a posting on the main site, and I think it also fits Phillip’s criteria. Atmospheric wise I felt as if I was some where within the HL2 world and countered two characters from this world, one Breen on the TV and a City 17 rebel on the train, so I don’t see were it does not qualify? This is far more HL orientated then many of the jump-puzzle only mods already posted. I think the bottom line with this one Phillip is it does come across has a HL mod and I feel sure that many of your visitors will enjoy playing without in any way questioning it right to be posted. There have been many mods in the past that you have not submitted and in the main your judgment has been right that they do not fit the site criteria, however this is not one, equally the have been a few mods posted that are just built around jump-puzzle that for me have no bearing on the HL world of things. So putting the quality issue aside, this mod for me does qualify, and does so by your own criteria as well as from an attainment point of view.

RE: Wasteland: HL2: EP2
I disagree with all but PP. Doubtless you make valid points other than adding it to PP. I, and I suspect most, want gameplay not tourism. There are loads of tourist maps, go see moddb and FPS Banana and others.
You might like to re-examine the first post where there is a link to the map for all to use! In addition PP recommends a play through
PP is not hiding the map, just keeping his home page and main site clean and for the gaming majority.
I wonder, are all the above more senior members mappers/modders? No problem with that obviously - we need you.
Will the above cost me influence and friends I wonder?

RE: Wasteland: HL2: EP2
Mel, it doesn't qualify by my own criteria because there are weapons and no enemies. In this case it's black and white.

RE: Wasteland: HL2: EP2
This is my point Phillip, if you are saying that it does not qualify due to not having weapons and/or enemies then why do these criteria not apply to the jump-puzzle mods you post on the main site?

As for jaspers very condescending remarks, what the hell has age got to do with what gets posted or not posted on the main site? I am the gaming majority and keep myself clean, what your excuse?
