Author’s Note
“The second map from the “…waystodie” series. Not really expecting to make a third, but that would be excellent, if I hadn’t rattled my brain trying to come up with new things for this map. But here’s the second in the series, I guess it’s sort of also a take on “5MoreWaysToDie” for the original Half-Life. Hope you enjoy it!”

Okay, I’ve just played this map and again, still struggle to enjoy it. I applaud the imagination and effort that goes into it but feel that killing a player for making the wrong choice is not right.
The choices seem so arbitrary, which of course they must be, but if only this concept could be altered to give the player a chance. I fear the problem is not the concept but me! IF lots of people enjoy these maps then that’s enough reason to continue making them.
Perhaps if the map was on a countdown timer and the player always had an option to escape death but that option took them back a couple of steps I would feel better about it.
I also feel the correct choice should somehow be hinted at either by visual or aural clues then I would be feel it’s actual a challenge. At the moment it is simply trail and error.
I think I got near the end but I died once too many to continue.
Note To Mapper:
Thanks for sending me the maps, please continue to do so, even if I’m not your greatest fan. Please consider adding some element of control for the player. That way your maps may stand out from the crowd of “X ways to die” maps.

Sure thing! Thanks for the feedback! I’ve just had problems making objective-based maps in the past, which is why I resorted to this kind, but then again I am still very novice to the whole mapping world. There were two of these kinds of maps for the original HL, 5 and 5more waystodie, and my two takes on them, I suppose. So I guess there won’t be any more of these from me… But I’m still learning and always appreciate feedback, criticism, and tips!

i’m totally agre with phillip considering dying is frustrating another approach could be to add some cutscenes showing what would happens when you are in without killing you for real…

Is this map supposed to open Sin Episodes: Emergence or has something gone wrong on my end?
