A short single player map, where Gordon is separated from his rebel teammates and has to fight his way through a Combine controlled apartment complex.
You encounter a variety of enemies and have to be careful of any open areas.

[...] A Brief Detour [...]

22nd February 2010
This is a nice little map. As bland as that statement sounds, it’s not meant to be. The design and layout is good, the lighting fine and the action fun.
Even though I prefer shorter mods, this one was just a little too short for me.
My only criticism was that the turrets were too easy to circumvent but that’s not a big deal.
All in all great fun for 5 minutes, so let’s hope Uncle Sam makes more and bigger maps.

I wish it were longer

Absolutely my kind of map. Play it now. Really.
Nothing new, no whizzbangs. Just a top notch EP2 combat map.
We can but hope that Uncle Sam extends this great map into something bigger or releases something similar – but longer, please.

Worth ten minutes of your time. Reasonably challenging on normal. As Phillip says the turrets were a bit pointless, but you get a hunter to fight at the end, which makes up for that. If you like hunters, that is, and I do.

Good short map for 10-15 minutes of well balanced gameplay but i will add my sent lightning source wasn’t that good in someplace (to bright) but it was perhaps intended, the metal/base part was a little out of context but if this one was made to give some direction to the author future

good fun, but it took longer to download than it took to finish.
I created a video playthrough.

Thanks, I’ve added it to the post.

A delightful little map, I wish it carried on for much longer. “Play It Now” for sure in my book.

Left me with a smile at the end. Hopefully more of this to come!

What there was of this map was ok and played without any problems, but it’s a bit short and shallow, apart from a few sharp exchanges with Combine there is not much to this map and it’s rightly named A Brief Detour.
Ok to kill 5 minutes or so, if it’s a first time effort by someone, then it’s well done.

A really enjoyable piece ! Well designed and polished with nice overall game-play balance throughout. A short and satisfying map. Give it a shot.

AWESOME map. I really can’t find anything bad to say about this.

This short map is definitely worth playing. Why am I not giving it a PIN? I don’t know.
As already stated: more, please.
