Story
You are Adam from the planet Esidarap. This planet is prestine with no violence, weapons or pollution of any kind. The members of this society have never been exposed to the evil ways of other primitive planets and Esidarap’s world council want to keep it that way.
The people of Esidarap are born with genetics that are pre-programmed toward the persuit of peace, love, liberty and freedom.

ADAM is a very bizarre add-on. You are an alien of some sort, whose DNA has been altered to resemble Gordon Freeman. You’ve been sent back in time to save your race from something or other by killing someone called Einstein. It’s not really clear unless you read the Readme, which is never a good way to introduce a mod.
There’s no new graphics, and the only new models are a new Rocket Launcher and a… well, naked lady. This is, to the best of my knowledge, only one of two R rated Half-Life mods (The other being by the same author, Hourglass). But the levels… well, they’re very VERY evil. Several times you can be killed without warning – one which springs to mind is an elevator which gets blown up half-way down and results in a very long fall to your death – and when I say without warning, I mean it. There’s no way to tell. Quick Save before using an elevator, jumping down a hole into water or using a teleporter.
Other level pitfalls include confusing design, instant-kill moments, having to fight your way through several guards before getting your hands on a hazard suit (it’s in one of the boxes before the first elevator) and many, many irritating concepts.
Grey Dog is obviously a talented fellow (his follow-up Hour Glass proves this) but this mod fails to show it. If anything, it often resembles Half-Quake in places – it seems determined to kill you. Only play if you’re feeling sadistic.

That’s right, this mod was rated “M.A.” when it came out. (seems like some people find a low polygon model offensive just because it’s naked… LoL).
Anyways, this mod is weird but somehow fun to play, give it a try (but only if you’re above 18. You don’t wanna piss off your mom and dad, do you?) LoL

Do the downloads for this mod not work anymore? I tried on filefront and it didnt work…they all said that the page could not be found when I clicked on the download servers. I do want to try this mod though (not because of the naked woman) because it sounds challenging and I like challenging mods. So please respond Phillip.

My next question is…Is game suppossed to have no health bar, suit energy bar, or ammo bar? This seemes like the game that might have that kind of thing, but I want to know before I get into the game so it doesnt get even more difficult. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just realized that my flashlight wont work either. And I cant switch weapons. This is starting to reall piss me off!

Phil. It’s Advisable to place an 18+ warning for this mod. As it dose contain nude gina , some scripted sex scenes , XXX images in some places..

I like Grey Dogs “Hour-Glass” way more than this one released one year earlier. Sadly Grey Dog disappeares from the scene after 2001. Another highly talented and skilled mapper lost to Real-Life i guess.

Esidarap=Paradise
The game reminded me of a tradiga-comedy in opera. That guy really gets torqued around.

yes, it DOES have a HEV suit, along with flashlight etc.
but you have to find it, it is hidden in one of the boxes. break them using the pistol (the nmachine gun never works and you do not have the crowbar).
this mod is funny, but I got somehow stuck at level 10 – this seems to have no ending, but there IS level 11 and 12 etc. (tried the map level11 console command). Any help?

Can anyone tell me why this mod doesn’t show in the My Games List on Steam and why it crashes to desktop when trying to load. I’ve even used the Server Config. file from another mod and it still crashes to desktop. Please help. Everyone seems to enjoy playing. I’d enjoy the same opportunity.

Wow–another designer’s effort wasted due to a few bugs. Weapons don’t work, or you can’t access a weapon after picking up another weapon.

There seems to be a bug at the start of the “Leap Of Faith” section. After dropping down the ventilation shaft the loading text appears, then you find yourself glued to the spot – game over.
I’d say…
…if you don’t mind having to give up because you become superglued to the floor half way through.

Actually, I’ve just found a way around the ’superglue”. Throw a grendade down the hatch and jump after it straight away. The loading screen appears, the grendade dissapears, and you land on the platform without being “glued”.

Strange design choices in the beginning (“where the hell is the HEV suit”) lead to fun-filled maps with intense shootouts and the occasional entertaining room (one of them has naked girls, which is where the ‘R’ rating stems from). Story is alright, with a plot twist or two nearing the end. However, pay specific attention to the readme. One of the puzzles at the end (involving a portal) requires you to shoot/activate a specific target.
All-in-all, a fun set of maps with an awkward start. Play Hour-Glass (also by Grey Dog) for a more refined experience.

Nope.Didn’t do it for me. I quit somewhere near the end down in another dark tunnel. The darkness in this is way too much. My flashlight would run out in just a few seconds and I just don’t like dark games. It also was a little sadistic with the women. The “chicks” in this are not even close to looking real and when I take careful aim to not shoot the women who is with the soldier, she somehow gets killed as well, which I thought was not fair. Here the girls tryin to make a living and she gets killed for no reason? The fighting in this is non stop but it is heavily tilted toward the enemy. I was constantly being overwhelmed. If it had more light, and I had it turned all the way up, I may have finished it but to play this long in near total darkness was no fun for me.

I have just found “ADAM”. Good game until (map LM9to9a) could not be found. I saved my progress so far, then reloaded the zip, but that didnt work, such a shame, I was enjoying that.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?

That’s strange, it could be anything; maybe try downloading it again?
I remember getting this off of Filecloud and it worked fine for me.

Three months after Adam was released the adam.zip file was updated. The answer to your question, Tim, is in the updated file’s adam.txt. There’s also a walkthrough of sorts.

Played this tonight and it was fairly enjoyable. The whole HEV / weapon switching thing really irked me, or rather confused me to no end, but I finally figured everything out via the supplied hints.txt. Otherwise was a good dose of nostalgia for me.
