FarCry is my favorite game and there are weeks worth of add on maps to play available too. Phillip, I think its high time you installed it! Make sure patches are installed to v1.33.

A very well designed map with a few unique twists and some well done cutscenes. All text hints and objectives in TAB are in German, however its possible to complete the map without knowing. I tried getting online translation, no go.

Graphics are impressive as are special effects, some unique. Gameplay difficulty is not evenly balanced, there are some spots which are quite difficult and others which seem a bit easy. That doesn’t detract from the positive impresssion this map left on me. Well worth the download!

Install is easy, I’ll go through it in case there are others who never got into playing FarCry add-on maps.

Extract airfield.rar into a temporary folder, move the folder “Airfield” that is created into the folder “C:pf\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Levels”. Start FarCry, using the Quicksave utility if you have it. Go to Profiles, make a new one, choose graphic options (hint, I found better frame rates with my P4 3.2 by turning shadows down to ‘low’ and other settings down from the best ones to ‘high’). Choose Main menu and click campaign. Pick your difficulty level and let the original game load (important step - this assures the difficulty level and your options ’stick’). Hit “Esc” from the original game, hit “~” to bring up the console, type “\map Airfield” without the quotes, and you are on your way

YES SIR! You’re right, I should install and play Farcry. I promise it will be the next game I install and play. I’ll then try and play the latest mod and map releases.

He he, you do so much work around here, figured its high time for a gentle nudge towards another source of fun. The original game is a winner too.

Airfield was a good map to play although I found that the helicopters didnt always return where they should have and would continually buzz you and also, if you dont do the objectives in the right order the map doesnt play correctly, but all in all a great map and much fun.
