  1. I hope someone has played this game…I need a hint for the room with the red lighting and the Xen slaves and soldiers across the water. I killed them all. There are 2 platforms moving back and forth left to right in the water. It looks like the only way across is to jump on one, then the other, and then across. But they are so far away that even a crouch jump doesn’t make it. Any secret way to get across?

I have played it and it is in my _finished folder, but I do not remember.

I will just replay it, and see.

    Ok, I am there.

    Mostly bad news.

This room is absolutely insane. A perfect example of bad map design…. and designers using cheats to test their levels, instead of playing them normally. If they tested at all…

    And no, no secret here.

It is possible to make it from the top platform to the first mobile block, then from it to the next, and from there to the platform with the switch, BUT:

    a) For the first jump, you need PERFECT distance, jumping from 1 edge, crouching in mid jump to get past the edge of the first block.

    b) At the speed the platforms are moving, this is not skill required most, but pure luck.

    c) You MUST crouch when a block you are on reach the rigth side, or be pushed off.

    d) When you crouch, you tend to slide off the block, for some weird reason, so you got to compensate for it.

    e) Making the successful jump between the 2 moving blocks took me weeks and hundreds of attempts, when I first played it. I only did because I wanted to see if it was possible. I am not even going to try, this time….

    f) If you make it that far, last jump is easy.

  4. Thank so much for the answer. I kept at that first jump for about an hour last night and finally made it to the first moving block. I saved immediately. A few times to the right and I figured out about the necessary crouch. I have tried to jump to the second block about 50 times so far. As so often happens with mods, there is a nearly impassable obstacle. I don’t want to give up on another mod so I will keep trying. I will let you know if I make it. Thanks again

  5. Minor spoilers here…

Ok, I finally at long last, after about 50 tries, got past those moving platforms. I am much further into the game at the train station. I have killed every single soldier and have one key, possibly the second key. I went into the train station attic and broke all the boxes and combed the area and no key. I have to hope I picked it up without knowing when I broke all the boxes. Now I am just running aroung the train station looking for a way to open the second gate blocking the train. Also there is a red door in the rock wall and I can hear Xen folk on the other side. do you remember what is required now?
    Thanks so much.

I’m stuck in the big outdoor area with all the turrets and grunts. I cleared everything out and found a button that opens an elevator, problem is I can’t open the door to get to that elevator. Both of the big red doors in the outdoor area are still closed. How do I proceed?

Climb the tallest of the four buildings (with a very long ladder), and press a button to open the first red door. Inside will be a button for the second door.

    Maybe?

This mod was a very noobish one, but I felt that it was ultimately worth the play time, so long as you don’t mind some of the dull/contrived/arcade-y level design.

  9. Play It Now!

I played this map-pack back in 2003, it was pretty fun to play. Now I feel like playing it again :)

    Maybe?

Not bad. Liked the big areas, but a bit too easy to shoot everything from far away with the pistol. Some long corridors were way too long. A couple of triggers didn’t work, but like I said, not bad. Worth a play

  11. Play It Later

A funny mappack with lot of tactical combat and nice in -and outdoor scenery.

    Pro’s:
-Basic mapping with some nice places, incl. outdoor areas
    -Excellent, tactical combat scenes
-Almost every weapon and plenty of ammo available
    -Some new textures, prefabs
    -Secret Areas
    -Some puzzles
-Story is quite good altho no cutscenes, but the puzzles keep on moving

    Con’s:
    -Unfortunately some boring level layouts
-Balancing, meaning difficulty (sometimes too easy, sometimes too hard) and weapon placement
-Long walkways (due to big areas)
    -Weird ending, looking unfinished
