Black Mesa Theme Park

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half Life 1, 2 and 3
About

Let’s think about this question carefully. How many adult theme parks are there?
(By adult I don’t mean connected with sex)

There are plenty for children but none for adults. Sure you can go karting or paint ball with your mates but nothing on the scale of Disney World. That is until now!!

Black Mesa Theme Park

I propose that a consortium of multinational companies buy some desert land just outside of Las Vegas and build a mock Black Mesa. Army trucks collect you from your hotel in the city center and take you out to the base, where you are given instructions in how to use a HEV mark 4.

During your time there you have to chase enemies through the sewers-style systems, load the anomalous material etc etc. I mean just view the image on the left. How cool would it be to be running around there with some kind of paint ball gun either chasing somebody or being chased!

Of course you can’t do everything in the game but there are plenty of things you could do. In many ways it would be like Westworld and how cool would that be?

It wouldn’t cost that much to build, just plenty of concrete, rusty old iron and fifty trillion dollars developing some cool portal effects and real headcrabs.

Don’t waste your time complaining to me about the insurance and the cost, this is Black Mesa GOD DAMNIT! Don’t spoil the fun with cost-flow analysis and financial modeling.

So, what are you waiting for? Sign the petition and let’s get the ball rolling!! In fact let’s make a list of some of the rides or activities that should be available. (Thanks to Black Mesa Source for allowing me to steal their images. This mod is gonna ROCK!)

Nice idea, I like it! Being in Black Mesa for real would be awesome.

  2. Straven007 Says:

YES! It would be verry awsome and Black Mesa would be a lot easier than a city 17 theem park. It would kinda be like a virtual realit half-life.
    im all for it!

The army trucks could drop you on the outskirts of the base and you’d have to take THE train ride in!

Even better, although the cost of building the train and tracks might be a bit expensive. But hey, it’s just a dream so why not!

Kool idea, but most adults wouldn’t have a clue. Would take a lot of hard, whiz-bang advertising to make it work. Hmmm…we could open a restaurant specializing in Headcrab Soup!

  8. anun Says:

who’s to say that their isn’t a real black mesa out there already?

  9. Goddess Alyria Says:

    I’m all for it!

The best way could be the making of a moving about Gordon’s Life and you would have all the infrastructure to make a theme park…but the idea sound quite interesting.

I think something similar has been seen on UK television (possibly Channel 4 or 5). A number of teams are given an objective similar to some from Half Life/Counter Strike and armed with full-auto paint ball assault rifles. If I remember correctly the teams wore something similar to an HEV suit and the baddies were dressed in Doom3/Quake4 type attire. The baddies also had paint mortars/cannons. The rounds took place in places such as airfields and at the end of each round depending on points scored, the teams could buy better pieces of kit like weapons or armour.

I only saw the program a handful of time’s at least a year ago and can’t remember what it was called (the title either started or ended with ‘X’).

From what I can remember of the TV show, it would be a interesting basis for a Half Life theme park.

  12. Jumbles Says:

The show was called X- Fire. It had such potential. I don’t think it would work though because, like happened in the show, you’d get someone who’d played Counter Strike a few times and thought he was a tactical genius ruining it for everyone else. You could always have a plant… someone who worked for the park playing as Gordon and the visitors could play his squad.

I though i was nuts… Nice idea though

Starting from the Sector C (?) Dormitories to Sector C Anomalous Mat. Lab. Oh my gosh it would be awesome. Think about it and time also pass by. Imagine that! Black Mesa? entirely rebuilt with all mass spectometers, falling computers, ventshafts headcrabs or even the coackroaches on the floor, damn… To touch a game content that way would be a dream come true!

  15. Thordin_Doomforge Says:

    Thor say yes!

But isn’t Black Mesa in New Mexico? Not that it really matters.

who’s to say that their isn’t a real black mesa out there already?

    hmmmm… To the google-mobile!

Ok. Well, here I am, eagerly awaiting the release of the Black Mesa mod,
in January, as promised, for a really long time now.
Don’t be shy to do it any time now :)
    Right now, even.
    Since it’s January and everything
