Mass Effect 3 Ending Fiasco by Emanuel Moshuris

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

First, they came for Call of Duty,
and I didn’t speak out because I’d bored myself of war shooters.

Then they came for the $59.99 price tag,
and I didn’t speak out because I got a job.

Then they came for micro-transactions,
and I didn’t speak out because I didn’t play TF2 anymore.

Then they came for Mass Effect 3,
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

I’ve owned X-Boxes, Playstations, and even have a Wii collecting dust at home. They’re fun but none of them come close to the PC gaming experience.

Here are my 7 reasons why….

Back to Our Roots by William McMahon

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

It’s really hard for me to imagine a world without video games. For me they consume most of my free time, I think it’s much more than a hobby… I suppose this must be what professional wine tasters feel like.

You see people like us (that includes you dear reader), we come to appreciate the finer things of video games. Sometimes it’s nice to step back and take a look at our roots, dip our toe into some old, mouldy and sometimes nasty waters.

Don’t forget to add your own in the comments.

I guess I should preface this article with a warning.

Warning: This article may get technical in some bits.

There… now with that out of the way we can get down to business.

Welcome to the Desert of the Real by James Partridge

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

Welcome To The Desert Of The Real…

Having read many reviews of the mods posted on PP I quite often see players commenting that a map didn’t feel “real” to them.

It’s always interesting to me that people should choose to use the word “real” to describe a place in a world that is distinctly fantastic.

In Half Life 2 we’re presented with a dark future filled with aliens, undead foes and giant bugs but still feel that somehow, one map is more “real” than another.

A Gamer’s Resolution by William McMahon

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

Most people my age fail to take New Year’s resolutions seriously.

I like to think of it as an opportunity to reflect on the previous year.

Where most peoples resolutions involve something life changing, e.g., quitting smoking, my resolutions almost exclusively involve video games.
