A small test release, set inside a sphere. Work your way from the start to the elevator.

Don’t panic when you start to go down and it jumps to your last save, you have finished the map.

There are a few different ways to complete this map.

Waking up in a room with broken glass, you see a portal gun on the other side of a doorway and through the broken glass, what looks to be a way of escaping.

Putting aside the fact you have no idea how you got where you are or even why you are there, your only thoughts are of escape and freedom. Good luck.

Two chambers, each with a different style of puzzle.

Four big and one medium sized chambers, each one fairly simple, with no difficult jumps.

Nice and bright in most places.

A few chambers and areas of varying styles. Some which require using the mechanics in a new way – very clever, too, if you ask me.

Anyway, a thinkers map and no really hard jumps required.

Get from one part of the map to the other, using the Theraml Discouragement Beam and a Light Bridge.

Apparently, there’s a surprise if you do it the hard way.

A basic map that uses some of the new Portal 2 mechanics.

This map will not end, so once you get the message, that’s it.

One of the first releases for Portal 2, that uses all of the new gameplay elements. No story, no GLaDOS or Wheately, just a few puzzle in a few areas.

You and your squad have got some serious work to do – GET TO IT SOLDIER!

You play in a room with Barney, Dog, Alyx, Father Grigori, a vortigaunt, a few citizens and the G-man. The room is just a box with a large image of Dr. Breen on the wall and a bunch of zombie trying to kill everything.

Another slow day at work… been slow all week now… so you decided to go home early. But as soon as you start to leave, the Combine start to break in. Entering the bosses office, you arm yourself with a pistol, and try to kill every combine you can, but they were coming in overwhelming numbers. You chose to get the hell out of there ASAP, only to be injured during the process and to find yourself hiding in a sewer. You wake up, wondering what just happened. As you get up from a blood stained mattress, you find more of your friends already dead. Grabbing a crowbar, you work your way through the sewer to find help. In The Sewer, you play the role of Malcolm, a rebel fighting for his life to get to safety.

After waking up in a dentist’s chair in the middle of nowhere there’s only one appropriate course of action to take: escape. This is the surreal dream-world of Insomnia. Will you survive this neverending night in the face of desperate refugees from more well-ordered realms of time and space? Or will you be trapped forever in the Red Room or perhaps the winding streets of Paranoia City?

Here is a Work In Progress that I have decided to post (I normally only post finished maps and mods) because it’s unlikely that this will be finished in the near future.

It features a simple prison setting, followed by a street setting. Expect some missing sections, but it still play okay.

This is an unfinished map that was released because it will never be finished. This was originally released as a HL2 map and had missing textures. The file has been updated and changed to Ep2. It plays okay, so I thought you might want to try it.

A storyless map that takes you through a variety of industrial areas

Re-enter the Half Life Universe and revisit City 17 in the time before Freeman, in this fan made single-player mod. The Resistance is threatened by a decisive Combine assault, and as a wanted Resistance member you will need to fight to escape from the Combine’s clutch. At the same time, a mysterious force is working towards ends unknown…

You find yourself in a barn, with the objective of getting some Combine plans and then getting back again. “Easy in, Easy out”, as people like to say. But of course, it’s never that way. “Difficult In, even more difficult out”.

Good luck and be sure to really explore, you may find some hidden weapon caches!

Who didn’t enjoy the scene near the beginning of Half-Life 2 where you ran along the rooftops?

It was a great start and let you see the city from above. I enjoyed it so much I wnated to play more maps like it, so I ran a mapping competition with “Rooftops” as the theme. here are the 8 entries I received.

Starting in one of the Combine pods, you suddenly find yourself dropped and free. Don’t hang around too long though otherwise you’ll get caught again.

You best bet is to keep running and kill everything in your path. There’s talk of a working Jalopy on the other side of the train station.

Call In takes place a few hours after the citadel was destroyed by Gordon Freeman.

You take the role of a rebel soldier on a mission to retrieve information regarding the super portal to aid in the building of Dr. Magnusson’s rocket.

You wake up in a room. Adjoining it are other rooms and guess what? There are zombies in them. Keep going from room to room until you find the escape.

The Metrocops have gone into bank security and you have decided to rob a bank.

Getting in is obviously the easy part, can you get out alive?

Once outside, things really hot up.

““Left for Dead in Ravenholm” is a two-level Campaign for Half-Life 2 that recreates gameplay from Left 4 Dead within the Half-Life 2 universe. Joined by Alyx, Barney, and Father Grigori, you must journey through the Zombie-invested town of Ravenholm in search of rescue. Together, you fight your way through a residential area in the first level, “The Neighborhood”.

“The entire apartment complex is a crime scene, and the player must make their way through three individually decorated apartments in order to survive the scenario. Rich in precise environmental detail, the apartments offer starkly contrasting visual motifs and puzzle-oriented challenges. It’s up to the participants in my study to infer their own stories about what happened in each space and to the individuals who inhabit them.”
