Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half Life 1, 2 and 3
About

Gordon Freeman crashes his car on the way to a presentation at his alma mater. Will he be able to escape Combine pursuers? (The answer is “of course,” but play the map anyway.

Author’s Note

“I used this map to teach myself Hammer so it isn’t as pretty as I’d it to be, but I spent several tweaking the gameplay and optimizing the map. The result is a fun and short “coffee-break” map that’s a blend of zombie bashing and furious shooting action.”

  1. Why has this popped up as a new post? I played this quite awhile ago. Anyway, it’s a good map with some claustrophobic set-pieces and well worth playing — even if I couldn’t figure how to get past the sniper in the underground section.

  2. It’s because I have only just added to the website and all new additions appear on the top in case readers missed them (Like I did!) when it was first released.

  3. Yes, sorry about that. I realised after I posted that I must have downloaded it from elsewhere. Speaking of which, There’s an excellent HL2 mod not here on PlanetPhillip, called ‘Mistake of Pythagoras’. Maybe that’s worth checking out?

And if anybody figures how to get past the sniper in this ‘Collision’ map, I’d like to know about it!

“Mistake of Pythagors” is definetly worth checking out. Kinda odd, with alot of puzzle-solving, very good collection otherwise. Five stars, Joe Bob sez “CHECK IT OUT!”. ;-)

You get past the sniper by making one continous run down the slope, every time the blue beam falls across you hit sprint until you hear the gunshot, then let go again as the sniper will adjust his shot to the speed you are moving so if you sprint the whole way he still hits you.

  6. Thanks for the advice liddl3monk3y, but I must have missed something major. I’ll have to reload this map and play it again, As I remember, the sniper was shooting at me while I was in a dead-end alley way with wire mesh sides. I got to the end of the alley but… what then? Was I missing a gate or something?

  7. This time Gordon made a crash with his car after a brief escape plenty of action, he need to get out from the mess by a sewer with the hoovercraft. The mission is nicely put together with here and there some good idea or fact you gonna encountered. It gives a average challenge in a correctly done architecture ( always a little bit to blocked by stones or wall with no real bugs exept the foggy environment texture ‘far away’) . Worth the download, even if it’s only the first part and so incomplete

Wow, I really liked this mod. For me, there was no lag, which is a thumbs up. Second, the level design was really good. I like how there are some elements of suprise in the level, with unique problems to be solved. Finally, the weapons are placed appropriatly through-out the level, giving a hint as what might happen next. So basically it’s this:

Fun Level: 4.5/5; The fights were quite fun, the exploring interesting, but near the end of the level, there was a certain sniper who was kind of annoying.

Level layout: 5/5; I thought that the house was really cool, the sewers had nice water effects, and what some enemies did were cool, and some suprising. (Ex: Hiding behind crates, burrowing under the ground, and popping out behind a corner, up the stairs, ect.) Also, I never felt tense while playing, which was very good.

Originality: 5/5; Really liked how they did the whole “your crashed and stranded” kind of thing. Plus some cool puzzle solving that I haven’t seen before.

    … Which totals out to be… a 4.83! (A repeating 3 that is!) Or, a 5.

what a great little mod.a nice break during lunch or a nite cap. would like to see more its fun, fast and clever.

  10. I am stuck at the very start. I took the underwater tunnel and reach the house but dont know what to do next. I killed the zombie and have a crowbar and pistol.

How do I get into the house? I see a rope holding up a huge bolder over what seems to be a storm door but I shot the rope, hit it with the crowbar – nothing. What am I missing?

Wow, my earlier review sounded so cheesy. But that was back when I was 11, do don’t blame me. Still, a great level.

  14. Play It Now!

It has a rather slow and slightly unfinished-feeling start, but once you get to the point in the house where you have to use a switch to open a gate then it really develops well. The combat is hard but always fair, and the last section in an old mine tunnel is really well done. The “dodge the sniper” bit is particularly good.

sniper killed me like, 20 times. There’s barely any cover (explosive barrels are NOT helping)

  16. Play It Now!

this is worth the play, last sniper is a bit tough but definitely doable.
