Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

“You’re sitting in your bedroom playing some half life when you hear an explosion outside your window.
You look outside and see the entire house surrounded by combine (I guess the RIAA finally tracked your mp3 collection down). You should be able to lose them by escaping into the reserve behind your house.”

  1. Phillip says Maybe

I can’t get too excited about this because the setting is very important for me and somebody’s house (even with a pool) just doesn’t cut it for me.

    Visuals
It’s very hard to make regular house look good in Half-Life 2/Source, so this aspect is best ignored

    Gameplay
This is wehere the map shines. The fighting was fun and the enemies are spread out quite nicely. I was dissapointed but the lack of movement that the Hunters had but with such a small area it’s ok.

    Layout and Design
The layout is fun to play and there’s a few hidden parts of the house and sections that will provide help and support.

    Summary
10 minutes of frantic action in a less than inspiring setting. Fun to play but not very nice to look at.

    5 Words Or Less Review

    Fun gameplay, horrible setting

  2. Play It Later

Great map for the fighting SP FPS gamer who is not too concerned about having a beautiful setting (some of it was pretty OK though). Doubtless authors will take it apart technically but it plays great and with no hang ups that I found.
I cannot deny the sheer joy of taking a Hunter down. They die but good.
A must play but not a PIN.

  3. Play It Now!

Great fun just Combine and Hunters without frills, apply named ‘Get out Alive’ which is the sole purpose.

Whilst the set design and detail within amounts to little, being very boxy in every respect, however, I doubt that you will have little time for shop windowing with so much action packed into this one.

If you have had a hard day this will help you unwind, although being on the short side you may want to play it through a few times, I think I will play it again just to kick some ass.

  4. Revised comment and recommendation. In hard skill, this is a ‘Play It Now’. A Hunter came out to get me! The Combines’ aim is much improved and they are hard men! Heck!

  5. Maybe?

Played this months ago. Fairly fun but design wise it’s quite a mess.

Either way, looking for something to kill time then check it out.

  6. Maybe?

Just as phillip already said, horrible graphics but extremely stunning fights!
Imo it’s lots of fun beeing in a house surrounded by enemies where you have to find a way out and finishing those suckers, just by you knowledge about the area.

  7. Play It Later

I really liked this one, the equipment is modest to start with, and you have to acquire more, gradually, to progress. Not too easy, not too hard. Congrats!

  8. Play It Later

The combat was good. Slightly challenging at the beginning, when you’re getting your first weapons and learning the layout of the house and the placement of the enemies. Plenty of cover in the meantime.

I don’t have the courage to play it on Hard, but it sounds like it might actually be fun. (I must be playing too many mods.)
