Devil’s Island mission briefing.

This mission leads you to a group of islands located somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean near French Guiana. Devil’s Island is the most southerly island in this group. The island once was a notorious French penal colony, and later utilized by the European Space Agency as base for launching satellites. Nowadays the island is privately owned by GENETECH International, a large research center,
said to be founded and financed by the large family empire ‘Krieger Holdings’.

GENETECH International specializes in research on combinatorial biosynthesis and cloning of humanoid species. Recent reports lead to the conclusion that under the expert guidance of the brilliant scientist, Alexia Krieger, the GENETECH projects are at the brink of a major breakthrough.

Your mission is to try and gain access to Alexia Krieger’s office, and retrieve reports on current status and future expectations of the running bio-engineering projects.

Unfortunately direct infiltration of this island is as difficult as escape used to be during its role as penal colony. The island defenses rely on a sophisticated satellite system called ASATS. ASATS - or Advanced Satellite Surveillance - makes undetected approach by boat or plane impossible.

Under the ruthless direction of local head security - Mathilda Krieger - the well trained security personnel is highly motivated to shoot at any intruder first, and ask questions later. It will need determination and improvisation to successfully complete your mission. To survive, you must follow the instructions carefully during the mission.

Wow talk about hard. I tried this the conventional way and it was just so darn hard. I got through it with the cheats but believe me you die so many times just trying to get to the other island its not funny. It would have to be one of the hardest maps I have ever played and I have played a lot of them.

this is one of my favorites i like the challenge, i like to play realistic go for head shots and it takes alot of patience and stratagy but the ways to do it are there. although i do use extra save games when needed.to get through any good map use a combination of ambushing and the 3 r-s 1-recon 2-rapid kills 3-run like hell-then do it again and again until done.

if i remember right this map had a couple of places where you get locked in and ambushed, one place i spent about 15 minutes finding movable objects and piling them as obsticals and a barrier around a table then ambushed them. another impossible seeming battle that may be in this one, you have to go to the end of a hallway to trigger their attack and the door you came in locks. after dieing countless times usually with a pile of corpses around me from the m-243 i simply blocked the door open blocking them inside then i triggered them, jammed out then blasted and greanaded them to h3ll- first try.

there is one major bug that crashed my computer and others i read about in forums, it’s where your hang gliding to the other isle and you have to follow your compass to the next checkpoint which happens when your still flying, i found a workaround for it, when your almost to the checkpoint and you are past where the jeep driving around turns around drop from the glider into the water and then swim to checkpoint. there is a spot after that where a lot of people [including me] had a hard time

it’s where you need to find a way to blow the radar dish the way is obvious once you find it. its closer then i thought. then i wasted a lot of time moving everything when i only needed to move one. still this is a well plotted and intense map with a lot of replay value and awesome battles and one of my top 3 favorites and i have played almost everyone i can find. TIP when playing foreign maps[this one is not i am just adding this at the end because it is helpful and i am here] i use babblefish and open the lua file and the places where the same line of text is repeated twice cut those sentences out between the “” “” marks translate them and put the text in the same spot then you can read it in game and usually know what you need to do.
