Guildhall Guide

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

I have been adding more and more Half-Life 2 maps that have been produced as part of the The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University graduate video game education program and feel a little explanation is in order.

The maps produced are part of the course and are built to demonstrate various aspects of game design. Many of the maps seem unfinished and I suspect that this is due to the fact that the objective has already been accomplished.

Each map will be clearly labeled that it originates from Guildhall and will have a link back to this post to clarify the situation. They also have the Guildhall tag to make then easy to find.

So, if you decide to play a map from the Guildhall program don’t expect a perfectly polished map in the same way that most maps are on PlanetPhillip.

I will be adding more and more Half-Life 2 maps from the students and may even add some Quake 4 maps. It seems that this year the number of Half-Life 2 maps is significantly down on last year. The program seems to have added more games to design for.

I will be contacting the University later in the year (Once the new theme is live) and suggesting some sort of joint publishing venture, so stay tuned for that.

If any reader is a student of the Guildhall and can provide a better explanation for the unfinished status of the projects I would be very grateful.
