This is a Russian mod, with English subtitles, that lets you play as Gordon Freeman before that fateful day.
As the name suggests it takes you through your induction and some training.
There’s no combat, but you do need to use your crowbar to help a fellow scientist.

The version I played and took screenshots with didn’t have the English subtitles, so I am sure I missed some nuances. I got stuck once and am pretty sure that with subtitles it won’t happen to you.
I can’t completely recommend this mods simply because there sis no combat and I would image most people who play HL games do so for the combat.
That said, it’s not that long and it’s nice to run around Black Mesa again, so this is more for nostalgia sake than anything else.
There’s a few buttons to press and task to accomplished but nothing to demanding.
Please don’t comment about this breaking the criteria of only adding combat maps to the site

It’s a small mod without Combat like you allready said. I still liked it and somehow it’s fresh walking through Blackmesa knowing that nothing bad will happen.
Play it later when you’re bored.

Original idea and fairly fun to play. The lack of combat may drive some people away but it’s quite short really and you’ll probably run through it in about an hour. Try it if you don’t have anything else to do.

An hour! It took me about 15 minutes.

That’s interesting ’cause it took me about an hour to finish.

Wow! This a mod that I won’t play for sure.

Seems well put together, but not what you could call exciting – just a day at work for Gordon.

Well, I don’t know why some people here don’t like it. There’re some really clever references to official Half-Life titles (i.e. Kleiner’s locked office from EP2). You get to see some familiar places as well. It’s a short, nice addon.

McAfee tells me it found a virus/trojan in the .rar (from FileFront) and it deleted the file.
Just a warning.

Wait a minute… Is this mod a kind of remake of the tutorial level featured on the Play Station 2 port of Half-Life?
