Is there a good shareware/freeware .rar program that does not invade .zip protocols as have an excellent .zip program….Also, when one use the .rar how to you install to Steam engine???????

Click on options in the the toolbar.Then select settings.Under associations uncheck zip.Open your zip program and find the options tab and put a check in the zip box.
I’m not sure what you mean with your steam comment.Are you asking where to place these files? C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\username\half-life\valve. Then type

I use winrar but as andyb says you can select exactly which extension are sued with which applications.
For example I have all .txt files open with my favourite text editor and not notepad.
Just ask if you need help making those changes via windows explorer. I’m not sure what application Andyb has given instruction for but with my version of winrar it’s:
Options: Settings: Integration.
Then uncheck ZIP and that will stop winrar opening .zip files.

I use winrar also for most everything thats compressed.For good programs I recommend winrar but if your a zip person winzip 10 apparently has rar support.

I use winzip has master and install 7-zip (which act as slave and doesn’t shuffle every .zip file) for opening rar files…works perfect

Although City17.ru does list it as Kill Your Self, the title is actually “Freeman’s Suicide” according to the ReadMe.txt.
