The story and action take place on the Hudson River. The American flag flies on the ship. You can vaguely see the outline of New York City, but there is not one light on in the entire skyline.

Your objective is to destroy a new weapons prototype in a hold on the ship, then escape in a lifeboat. Pretty straightforward, don’tcha think? It is not, however, as easy as it sounds. Enemy placement is excellent and it’s difficult at times to kill before getting killed. I did a lot of restoring. Seemed the bullets killed me with only a couple of shots (yeah I know, thin skinned) The enemy guys did die reasonably, so there was nothing unusual about this. They must have been closer to me than I could see in the gloom.

Ammo was more than sufficient, but I found health a bit on the stingy side. I did manage to gain enough at one point to bring my health back to 100%, short lived as it was. I was not, however, ever in danger of dying because my health was way too low. It was just lower than I liked.

There are lots of doors on this ship, but you can’t get into a lot of them. Until I got to the first door I could actually open, I had no idea what to look for. After that, the doors that opened all had the same texture so it was easier to discern.

The design is gorgeous. The ship passages, although somewhat cluttered and probably unsafe for travel, look real and were flawless in their design. I saw no problems with any of the textures. There were, however German markings on several crates, which really was out of place in this map.

You move linearly through the ship, up and down ladders and such but pretty much following a path of sorts. Not many nooks and crannies to search through.

Nits? One major one. This whole map takes place in a bad rain storm. There were water drops on your eyes everywhere, even inside the corridors. They were omnipresent, making it extremely difficult to see, especially in dark places. This may have been because of my video card. Hopefully you won’t experience this anomaly.

The author says the minimum requirement for this map is a 933MHz machine. I played on my lowly PIII 450MHz and I did fine. Once or twice it got a tad sluggish and in places the music stuttered. Other than that, I had no problems playing this map.

I was a bit disappointed in the end, however. I expected to get in the lifeboat and move off before the goal was achieved. Since the end happened as soon as I got in the boat, I should have died. Just my thoughts on it.

Since there aren’t a plethora of maps out there, especially new ones for this game, I recommend you take the time to download and play this one. Although it’s not a true RTCW level, it’s close enough (sans Germans) to make it enjoyable and give you an opportunity to play something new. Don’t let the hefty download scare you. You’ll be happy you got it.

Perfect review man I played this one from an author that was at this time really active on AMC forum (http://amc.planetduke.gamespy.com/smf/), where i was active in making review (still hope everything come back one day…)
In the mean time i honestly sugest you to make a small blog like I did to put you review in, and really push you to make some more cause it’s worth to read them out

excellent map. How did you make the atmospheric effects? I m doing them with another sistem, but the rain of you map was simple awesome!
