Auhtor’s Note:
“Hello! This is my second attempt to transfer some Doomage from old days to our all-is-there Half-Life2. 6 secrets and 47 monsters make the fun yet more exciting as it was in “Hanger”. That the level hasn’t a lot to do with Nuclear? No pain, soldier, elimination is the point. A sip of green ooze ‘ll make you conscious.”

Yup, this one’s a goodie! Plenty of variation and a litle puzzle solving, which makes a change from the uberviolence of most third-party maps.

In the surfaces of all those single player maps that are out there I came across something very intriguing.
Nuclear Plant is a single player map, but it is that infamous map from the Doom game. All of the map looks exactly like it did in game, except that you have the Half Life 2 enemies and weapons. Even most of the pick ups look like something out of doom.
Anywho I had a right blast in it, reliving old memories of when I used to play it… though I played doom on god mode with all of the weapons but I was young then…
The map was awesome, but it was originally conceived by ID software, creator of awesome games including: Doom, Quake etc. This player has taken a break from the uber graphics of the Half Life 2 universe and then just stuck Doom 2 slap bang in the middle of the old school gaming convention. The player had got it to a good likeness and I recognized it as soon as the map started. A trip down memory lane, with a shot gun!
Apart from the actual style of the game there isn’t much really go on, I did run out of ammo a lot of the time and was reduced to pistoling everyone but that was slightly fun. It was funny to run up behind a combine and shoot him in the back. It’s cowardly but I reacted instantly and he never knew what hit him. Bless…
Anywho, well worth a play if your looking for something to do for a bit.
