This is possibly one of the best mods I’ve played, it has just about everything you could ask for. A good story aslong as your paying attention in the beginning. New weapon models galore, minus knife, m249 saw, grenades and satchel.
Some really good level design, and although most levels are greyish walls/floors, there is some variety in the form of a dam, outside areas, blowing up key things, military bunkers, canyons…
Its quite a battle to, while your player is going in convert, with a attachable silencer for the SMG, it is still quite a long and fierce battle to the end.
Theres some button hunting and some vent crawling but 99% is blasting away quite a few soldiers.
There fight typical soldiers with SMG’s or shotguns, a few snipers, tanks, rocket turrets, helicopter and some Black Ops later on.
Its strange you don’t get told about your extraction in the beginning of the game. You’ll see why

My only real problem is how inaccurate, and how heavy the recoil is on the m16. I avoided the gun as its pretty much worthless because of these problems.

I have nitpicks like what doesn’t make sense is the fact you find the C4 during your mission… right when you need it. Which is like on 4 occasions… which is a tad ridiculous, you should have been given it for the assignment.
and its a shame you don’t get to see the Saw again once you loose it.

Theres no voice acting but the mod didn’t need it.
Theres no Xen but it wouldn’t have fit into the storyline.

I changed the german titles, to be in english for everyone’s convenience.

Play it now if you like great hl mods.

Guess it’s a lil bit buggy as I’m stuck after blowing up the damn, I always get an error afterwards, nonetheless I’m willing to point out my opinion so far..

Pro’s:
-Story + gameplay
-Weapons
-Level design, military setting, scripts
-Objectives window point out what to do

Con’s:
-Sometimes boring, grey levels
-Bugs(?) Game crashes always after the dam explodes

I’m stuck! I hope I’m not being a pain.
I blew up the dam and I’m past the heliport. I’m at a 2nd small heliport trying to reach it. It’s a long jump. There’s no way I can make that jump,it’s to long. I did that and is froze the game at the start screen. lol But it gave me an idea.

I went to my bmsl folder and copied the “config.cfg” which was 4kb and pasted to the “opbt” folder, the “config.cfg” was 3kb. It asked me if I wanted to replace the “config.cfg” I clicked yes. Now I got key binding/I can edit my keys.

Now, I can’t get pass the sniper after I shot down the helicopter at the beginning of the game. arrrrggggg!

Well, It didn’t work for long. Every time I die I have to reset it twice,once on the intro. and again when the game starts.
It won’t keep the edit. Simple solution is not to die,right? lol
Frustrating!
I did both the delete and the update.

Download the update opbt-update-for-steam.exe, or, alternatively, go in the mod folder and rename or delete the \opbt\gfx\Shell\kb_act.lst file.

I just downloaded this mod and the keyboard edit is missing! I can edit the audio and video but not the keyboard. I have to use the A,D,and some other keys. I am used to using the arrows for moving. I edit button is there but theres nothing to edit. the green box is blank.

Any ideas?

I was the one asking for the opbt_bsp.wad., because the installation didn’t give the opbt_bsp.wad., (The installation has an error), so, does planetphillip have the opbt_bsp.wad?

Ive found the problem there seems to be something wrong with my security settings I cant seem to see what the problem is I checked and it should dl fine but now Ive taken to dling exes using internet explorer instead of firefox.

I’ve just downloaded and tested the Steam links above and they worked for me. You need to download the main file and the relevant update.

A very good game with one or two bugs. This is the most polished mod I have played for some time with textures, weapons, sounds, effects and design top notch, just a few issue keep it from being a classic 5.

A realy good mod, like it a lot, oh and it only took me 4 goes to jump onto the ladder and i only died once! (he said smuggly!) , died the first time missed the next two times but found i could hang onto the rocks and manuver sideways back to the ledge.

This Mod rocks.I am about half through it and I must say without the walkthrough I think I would not be able to finish it.I had trouble with HL version 111o.After jumping down the pipe the dam blew up and I went to desktop.Tried saving before but still the same so I copied over to my steam account and it worked.Thanks again for the walkthrough.

I started it a few days ago and will continue thoroughly from now on. It’s such a looong mod..
But it’s worth playing and writing help for it. I regret not posting a little review of it, but because it’s so long, I forgot my likes and dislikes at the end )
