I am sure there is a story and would love to hear from a Russian speaker to help complete a description and other details. I installed this to a folder outside my Steam installation and then copied the folder to my SourceMods folder. I was worried that it wouldn’t create its own folder. I seem to have been right.

OK, I have only just started to play this and it seems very good. I included the image of me dead because I took about 3 tries before I got out of the area without being killed.
I find it very frustrating to not be able to understand what’s being said. If the developer of an intermediary wants to contact me I can try and find some people to re-record the voices in English if they want to.
Anyway, without finishing it it seems like you probably should download it and try it.

Mini walktrough (contains spoilers, duh …)
map1:
- kill the combines
- get into the brick building
* first floor => get some gear from the armory
* second floor => steal the briefcase in the office (press use)
* third floor => a secret weapon, but watch out of for the turrets!
* back to first floor => go to the right room and look for the key on the shelf (buggy key)
- go outside and start the buggy, drive down the road and jump over the hole. Your buggy is destroyed and you have to continue on foot.
map2:
– enter the building and open the right gate to enter a small armory
– then open the left gate and watch the sequence
– kill as many combine and get in the helicopter (on the platform)
map3:
– enter the small base, gear up and heal yourself!
– kill all combines that arive with the dropships
– enter the base (elevator)
– find your way to a guy next to a radio and watch the sequence
– you ‘ve now completed the mod (damn that was short)
But there is more, find your way out of the base and you can play the bonus map.

The Combine retreated after the fall of the Citadel. The war has stopped, but the situation is still very tense. Our intelligence has reported
that the Combine develops a new super-powerful weapon, which they are going to use to re-conquer the planet. We cannot allow the Combine to finish the development. Our intelligence has reported also that the Combine is going to try this new weapon on one of our bases. We don’t know what weapon it is, but it can be destructive or hypnotic. To find out further details, our spy (agent) has infiltrated the Combine’s HQ and he is our only hope.
You are the agent of the rebels that infiltrated the Combine’s base. Your main task is to find documents about the new weapon and steal them at any cost. The Combine has supected you and sent soldiers to arrest you.
Now the agent has to finish the task ASAP and leave the city, towards helicopter pod, to return to the rebels’ base and pass along the information.

This mod is amazing. After completing you get a minigun, within a minigame to kill Antlions. The entire weaponry is pretty well made, with custom sounds and well designed models and textures. They function well, and I think that is the main attractive of the game. The weapons presents are some of the following: AK47, MP7, MP5 with usable scope, PMM (Pistolet Makarov) “pistol”, Shotgun (it’s an SPAS12), the default rebel crossbow, ar2 rifle just with secondary trigger function… A lot of things. It is definitely worth the try.

I am a Russian fan of this mod, and I can say now that they are continue to developing this mod, but it has another backstory, + there will be lots of new things in a “second edition”.

I really have enjoyed this mod! Lots of interesting new tools. My biggest problem is I don’t read Russian, so am in the dark about what is going on most of the time… even guessing at the menu selections, and had no clue as to what the objectives pages meant. An English version would be absolutely great!

Having installed a new graphics card I have now managed to play through the mod without crashes and freeze-ups. Content, design, textures and fine detail are all extremely well done. Combat is challenging as well as being fun and as mention by others; the weapon array is very extensive and realistic.
They are some rough edges and I am sure that lots of readers will have trouble, finding this mod a bit unstable if my early attempt to play through is any thing to go on.
Lets hope the authors can both clean the game up and extend what is a very promising mod.

I did. Everytime I went outside the game crashed. After I disabled Antialiasing and used trilinear insted of anisotrophic filtering game worked fine for me. Although it crashed when tried to fly the chopper at the mini game.
Nice mod anyways. Although new weapons made it bit too easy to kill the enemy.

Same thing is happening to me Mel. Its crashes when the bell is ringing/alarm. It crashes BAD. I will try and see if I can do what you did. Shame too, looks great!

I turned down my graphic settings and changed my res. And no more crashes. Finished the game, short but good. I don’t get the bonus level. The antlions just keep coming back after you kill them. Is there anyway to complete this level? And what is the helicopter for on the bonus level. I tried to get 9in, but nothing? Overall very good but needs to be a little longer! You don’t really get a chance to try all the weapons..

but when i click on the exe folder i get a downloader that is in russian asking (i think) where to save the file. I saved the file in the half life 2 folder but when i go to the HL2 folder there is no exe for secret weapon

Lets try it this way.Make a folder on your desktop and name it anything you want.Put the file you downloaded into it.Run the file and don’t select where to save it just use what it shown.When its done extracting move that entire folder to the sourcemods folder.Restart steam and it should show a mod called Project secret weapon in the games list.

So, I get on the chopper and then I enter the base and kill some bad guys and listen to more Russian then I’m at a road race with buggies and 4x4s. So after the race, then what? I see no place to go here. Is this just the end of it? It was a fun but short mod. I also turned things down and the crashes went away.

Given the mod drought, I’ve been going through Phillip’s back catalogue to replay some of the good mods.
This is a gem, a must play and has loads of hard combat.
It’s an .exe. Before you start, the mod name has been omitted and you need to create a folder in your SourceMods folder Secret-Weapon and run the .exe to it.

marnamai’s walkthrough for map 1 is a must, see post above.

i just did find it for the first time too a few days ago, and have played it now, and,….LOVED IT!!!!

(i did find this one because i googled on weapon mods for hl2).
its all already said above therefore i will not repeat it all here, but,
i do agree, this is a MUST PLAY !!!
a shame there were no more maps, believe it has 3 to 4 maps and a simple bonusmap, that was very enjoyeble to play though.
so, PLAY IT NOW i give it, personal favorite.
to be honest i never did find one that did get that creteria, it’s like saying it can’t be made better, like you give it a 10. and nothing is 100% great, although this one comes very close !!!

The Personal Favourite is exactly what it’s called. It’s not saying that a map or mod is 100% perfect, just that personally it’s one of your favourites. A lot of my PF’s have things I don’t like about it, same for books and films, but that doesn’t stop them from being special for me.
To only give PF recommendation to maps and mods with 100% is impossible and nobody would ever give one.

I thought this was a well made enjoyable mod. I suggest a quick read of the walkthru above only because the game play is in Russian.
Bonus Map……….WTF Babe???????? I beat the dude in the buggy race, come back to the start/finish line to get the girl and Nothing lol, Alyx babe why you keep running away from me, after all we have been thru together over the years, this is how you treat me lol you b!tch, “Its a quarter after one, Im a little drunk and I need you now” lol stop running away….. anyways i got into the little chopper in the arena area and got it moving along the ground, antlions just keep respawning with antlion guards, Is this the end? no final conclusion??
Overall a mod definitely worth playing.

Before the HL2 update, I actually wasn’t able to play this mod–it kept crashing on me as soon as I got to the buggy (before you’re supposed to be able to use it).
I didn’t appreciate the new weapons quite as much as other people, but some of them were neat.
This is a pretty short mod. The combat was fun. What I did not like is that it seemed to lock up on me if I tried to use quickload during combat. (Am I the only person who tries to do that, or something?)
