You play as Gordon again and your objective is pretty much the same as the original game: escape the base.

- Copy the rhf folder into your Half-Life folder.
- Restart or start Steam.
- Half-Life: Run From Hell should now be listed in your Games tab.
This mod was designed to run with Half-Life version 1.1.0.8. It ran ok in my Steam installation but because the options menus are all in Russian I recommend you make a backup copy of the config.cfg and copy a previous config.cfg from another mod. In fact when I tried to use the options menu, all the elements of key configuration were unavailable.
In addition, all the voices are in Russian but I didn’t feel hat it’s a problem except for one area where the scientist says something before you press a button. It seems that once you press the button you don’t have long to get to the grate that opens. If you miss it, you will have to reload because you can’t get back to the button.

Okay, firstly, big thanks to Vicpas for sending me the information about this mod.
Now, you can see that I say “play It”. It’s not prefect but the good elements easily outweigh any flaws. So, what are the flaws? Well, the joins between the levels are A: badly placed and B: don’t always work, meaning you have to reload from a previous save or use noclip to get things working again.
There’s not enough health around, at least for a bad player like me. Lastly, the level design is generally too boxy, but that’s what happens when you design Black Mesa style places.
The gamplay is generally fun but considering I played for just over 2 hours I felt I should have killed more baddies.
I have to admit to cheating at one point, just before image 68. I couldn’t find a way past the crates under the liquid.
I considered making this a Hall OF Fame but really it just never got me excited enough. That’s perhaps its problem; it’s good but never great.
The last battle was pretty hard and I can’t imagine how hard it would be if I played on HARD instead of EASY!
5 Words Or Less Review
Competent but lacking something special.
If this mod were a TV chat show….
I would want to see more guests.

All the links work for me.

It’s a strange one this. It’s competently done but by a s-a-d-i-s-t. I played on normal difficulty and it is hard. In the early stages you are very short of ammo and facing all sorts of challenges, like having to make a series of jumps against a timer and when you make it through the door just before it shuts you are faced with two turrets and all you’ve got is a crowbar. On top of that, as Phillip says there’s very little health around so you have to break every crate, just in case, and the crates are super-strong. They take about 25-35 blows with a crowbar to smash (I counted ‘em) so you spend quite a bit of time in front of a crate with the crowbar holding down the fire button and waiting for it eventually to break – only to find nothing inside! The underwater crates where Phillip got stuck are the same, but you can only land so many blows before your air runs out so you have to keep nipping back to the surface before heading back for more extended crate-smashing activity. It makes the game longer but not in a good way. It’s worth a go but not a personal favourite I have to say.

I’ve got a problem installing it – Copied rhf folder into sourcemods, but it doesn’t appear in my games.
Done it several times now – no joy.
I even copied the contents of folder rhf into sourcemods, rather than the folder itself, still no joy.
Am I doing something wrong?
Phil
21st May 2009
Yes, you are doing something wrong but it’s not your fault, it’s mine.. It’s not a Source mod, so it needs to go in the HAlf-Life folder. Sorry about that. I’ll update the post now.

I’m enjoying this, I do like the longer mods!
But I’m stuck – I’ve got past the tank (that’s just around the corner in screenshot 67) and found the two opening drain covers, and found the third underwater tunnel blocked by crates and presumably I’m to get past the crates.
But no amount of bashing will destroy the crates .
Tips anyone?
23rd May 2009
I think you simply need to keep bashing. Obviously you’ll need to come up for air a lot.
23rd May 2009
OK! Cheers

Destroy crates.
Crates break long.:(
It is recommended: find adjustment in HL game configurations and change adjustment for crowbar, Increase its force
//sorry for my bad English

That’s easy for you say, even in bad English, it is all I can do to use a couple of cheats in the console.
Thanks though.
Anyway I got past there, and am now stuck again.
Up a lift, across some toxic liquid, Found a scientist and a barney in an office, health and HEV found in office, the next door will not open because switch broken.
Scientist and barney don’t even have bad English, only Russian, but they talk to me, which is nice!
Tip please Gentlemen?
23rd May 2009
Sorry, Phil, i do not remember… Was for a long time…
I need to pass this modification again.
26th May 2009
C’mon people – please help me.
I’ve passed through the door shown in image 75 above, and crossed a pool of some toxic liquid leaking from some barrels, Found a scientist and a barney in an office.
The next door (which presumably takes me to image 76) has a sparking switch and I can’t open it.
I’ve looked on the (very good looking) website of the author, but it’s in Russian.
And Thankyou to MonoLife.
26th May 2009
Push the scientist to the sparking switch, he will open it. HAving said that I could be wrong. Are you sure you aren’t near image 60/61 and 62?

Always pleased:)
Can not works scripts?

I do not understand the question.
26th May 2009
Phil is right, something is possible has not worked.
Phil.
The scientist who costs together with the security guard, speaks and then opens a door itself as soon as you will come into that room where they stand.
P.S. My modification of five years’ prescription is here. It is surprising that in it someone plays!
26th May 2009
Hello Phillip ——I am definitely in between Images 75 and 76.
In 75 I have just exited a lift and when the door in 75 opens there is a number of barrels and a pool of toxic liquid on the floor. After crossing the pool, which costs health but doesn’t kill if your quick, there is an office door where you find scientist and barney. Hidden in the office behind a large bashable grill is health and hev dispensers.
Back out of the office is where I am, with the sparking switch.
I have tried pushing scientist and barney to the switch, to no effect.
Bashing, shooting, exploding with rpg and grenades, swearing all have no effect!
Maybe I have to go on a Russian language course and swear at it in Russian.
Four days I’ve been stuck at this door, and I will not give up.
I’ve even tried cheating with noclip, but can’t get that to work.
26th May 2009
Phillip — forget it!
I just went back and played from image 75, (again) and this time the %$^%y scientist opened the door from inside the office straight away!?
Many Thanks

I wrote above about that the script did not work!
26th May 2009
Ah! MonoLife – Now I understand you. My Russian is very bad!
Anyway – I finished it, and I quite enjoyed it.
Thanks to all who helped.

Hi, Pl@zmer
Have you another released?
26th May 2009
Hi, vicpas. The Event In The Village an SP mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two (theme at a forum – /forum/showthread.php?tid=880 ). During game was bugs and glitches are noticed, the fix therefore is planned in the near future. I think, when I will make a fix then it will be possible to place it here. Give we will make so.
