This makes three times that a map author has recreated their school in Half-Life 2.

i played through it although the level shouldve had alot more enemies i found alot of the rooms empty.
If you found the Stapler (hidden behind a wooden bookshelf) nice model & sound although its just the crossbow still a nice touch.
excellent level design the beginning couldve been better since u dont get the crowbar right off the bat.
A 2nd release with more enemies would be nice still pretty awesome.

A great looking mod, but you spend ages walking down corridors opening door sto empty rooms. Blast a zombie now and again, or whack a headcrab, then move on. I became frustrated at the lack of gameplay. All respect to the creator, he did a good job and I daresay he had a lot of fun building a replica of his school…I just wish I could have had more fun playing it. More enemies and a story next time, please, or at least a clear objective.

There’s a discussion/thread which (sort of) addresses my grumble about the mod lacking an objective. Apparently it does have one, but it’s well hidden. And that’s the crux of the problem. There’s a keycard and a stapler to be found, but after you’ve opened an identical door to be greeted by an identical room beyond, for the umpteenth time, you’re unlikely to notice these little bits of paraphernalia lying around.

I haven’t finished playing this one yet, but if you find the security card early on before investigating inside the school, I’d bypass it. It was really great model design though, just really no game play. I have to say, all those students must have really gotten tired standing on their feet all day in class.

Great mod, very different. For those of you that have not gone beyond the school you have missed 2/3 of the experience. A lot of work went into this (there are even some new enemies). Does anyone know if it ends with the train ride, or is there more I’m missing?

I don’t know. After I accessed the sewers & needed to depend on my flashlight, I had to stop playing. Bummer because it was kinda spooky.

Jowpers, apparently you are suppose to kill 6 manhacks. If you don’t kill all six, the train keeps going. There have been problems with the 6th one getting stuck in the tunnel somewhere so it’s suggested you start again from a save point. I’m having the same problem as you & finally went to another the author’s website (i think moddb) & read through those comments. After you kill the 6th one, the train is suppose to stop.
As for my earlier post about the flashlight, I finally just “felt” my way around until I came to a light source.

Repeatedly, I only found & killed 5 manhacks instead of 6 – the author has a d/l available at moddb for a save point that takes you to the train ride’s end if you’re stuck at that point.

Yes it is 6 manhacks and sometimes it only spawns 5.Game bug I think but if you reload from an auto save not a quick save it should work ok.I reloaded 7 times before I tried the auto save and then it worked fine.

6th manhack??
you’re all much further then i have come untill now. i agree with most comments above, the architexture is ok, but in some places the mapper made beginners mistake, still, great mapping, (although optimization would have been nice!!! read = a must!).
about the stapler, i did find it, and had to luagh about the size of it, never knew it is a weapon, will pick it up next time. to me it seems that this was the first map and the maker didn’t know how to spawn enemies yet, so he just placed some around, what makes you only have at the start enemies, and after the that the rest of the map is empty. still, all those awsome new models make it more then good. great great modeling, loved some pices. have looked at them very careully!!
still, my biggest problem is that i’ve played it 3 times, the first map. and every time when i got to the 3th fllor i believe it is, the game crashes. is there some kind of bug there??

with me the game also crashed on that outside stair, but also 2 times when i was inside the shool, on the 3th floor, (seems there is something wrong there, but i will try to play it again and see if i can get passed this ‘bug’ (of some sort).

I thought it was an excellent mod believe it rates at least a 3. Starts too slow which might be due to the large number of doors and empty rooms,

Nice Mod!
I had to download the savegame to get out of the train! But now I’m in a room (subway-station?) where alyx and some friends are! After killing a lot of combines all the friends have been beemed (teleported?) away and still alyx and I remain there. What have I to do next? Or is it again a bug, that I can’t findout what to do next?

yes, it is an another bug. but, before this scene with teleportation, game auto-saving.
just load this autosave and kill lot of combines again…

I had no bugs at all and loved it! I thought the second half was fantastic with great fights and a true HL2 feel to the whole mod. The empty classrooms was dumb and not really needed but once you find the keycard it’s game on! I liked seeing Alyx again in the end-great mod! LC-in the school, on the 1st floor there s a room with zombies-kill them and open the safe and look on the desk for the card. Go outside and down into the basement. The card opens the door-NOW The Real game begins! Good luck-
