Here is a medium length map that was submitted to a Snarkpit competition. You play as Gordon Freeman on your way to what looks to be certain death.
This is my entry for the snarkpit ‘map from base’ singleplayer mapping challenge. Regardless of how the challenge pans out, I plan on developing this map further, and extending the gameplay beyond what I’ve built.
We’ll call this an ‘alternate history’ if you will; a spin off scenario that puts you, Gordon Freeman, captive of the brutal Combine – being marched off to a quick death. The end is near…. or is it?
Edit…. this map has been EXTENDED!! I’ve completed round 2 of the snarkpit mapping challenge by continuing with this singleplayer map. I decided to try and cram round 2 into the same bsp… the result is a fairly large map. Let me know if anyone has problems running it, as I may end up splitting it into 2 maps. Once again, I plan to continue developing this further.

It seems that for some reason this mod is not Windows Vista 64 Bit compatible.
Just add -32bit to the target of your HL2 shortcut or right click HL2 in steam and go properties, then Set Launch options and add it there.

is a good map but i suffer with the Fps really low at the end, i think this is because is an old map, and it’s a shame that now some relly good maps are not quite sure if they’re going to run propperly, i know this is from 2008, bu now in 2011, i couldn’t complete the map, because at the last battle a “Ed_Alloc: no free edicts” error, i don’t know what the hell means that but i think is probably related to some steams updates issue or something, anyway that error is a hard shame for me because i was not able to finish this, map, i hope anyone else that plays it doesn’t find the same issue i had, also at the cool beggining the Ant lion momma secuence, didn’t start propperly and i have to use noclip, a shame!, but if u want 2 try thiis map, is a good option to play it, i hope the author update it and offer us a second well deserved part.

Yeah I had the same problem. Had to use noclip to get the game to continue on at the beginning, the underground guy got stuck trying to pick up the gun from the box. .. and when I get to the part of the map where you kill the snipers and press the button on the tracks I crash after that by moving around a bit with error “ED-Alloc: no free edicts”. I even tried adding “-num_edicts 4096″ to run options for HL2 but still crash .. guess I won’t be playing the map any further.
