Spicewood – Half-life 2

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half-Life 1, 2 and Episodes 1, 2 and 3

Starting in a very large walled area, you need to get the buggy.

Once over the wall you find a lot of Metrocops and a Strider.

Can you reach the end and kill them all?

    Phillip says Maybe

Look at the date this was released: 2006. Therefore it’s not fair to be too hard on it or the author. It’s also just him playing around with Hammer.

There are only screenshots from early in the map because HL2.exe kept crashing and I don’t think it is related to the map.

    Visuals
    Boxy and horrible.

    Gameplay
It was quite hard and actually quite fun, although it really made my system stutter quite a lot.

    Layout and Design
Designed by a 9 year old.

    Summary
Forget the age, forget the visuals, just play it if you like these types of maps because it could be quite fun.

It’s a blast. No story, Just a blast and great fun.
Beautiful it is not – so what!
Play it sometime to relieve the tension from SM, R&D, SCIFI3 and the like.

Enjoyable, worth a play if you have 10 minutes of free time. Closure would have been nice, I think I killed everything, but I can’t help but feel that I missed something.

quite some funny parts, but I hoped to steer the tank :D

    Maybe?

I actually couldn’t play this in HL2–it crashed on me both times I tried; but it worked fine in Ep2.

It’s actually kind of boring the way I played it–but I don’t mind standing quite a ways away and going through lots of pistol ammo. Don’t get me wrong I died twice, but after I figured things out and took out the sniper, it was quite easy.

If you like to plow in and engage lots of enemies at once (unlike me), you could maybe have a lot of fun in this map. Or if you used the buggy…
