Street 6 – Half-Life 2

Single Player First Person Shooter Maps and Mods for Half Life 1, 2 and 3
About

This is an abandoned level that deserves more attention. You should note that there are some textures missing and a few other minor issues but it was only ever released as a beta anyway.

I really thought this was an excellent map, although it didn’t seem to have an ending. I note its a beta and maybe that part isn’t finished yet, however the readme doesn’t clarify. So I’m wondering if I missed something?

As you can see from dougjp’s comment the map has been on PP for quite a while. I found this map yesterday and didn’t think it was on the site, so I played it and was really excited thinking I had found a map not listed anywhere else!

I agree with dougjp that is was an excellent map and as aprt of a larger mod would be perfect. Besides the technical issues regarding textures and such mu only critisim is the groups of ememies. You rarely get one on its one, they come in packs of 6 or more. A little bit like London’s buses!

The route is varied enough for you to take a few wrong turns but still endup in the right place. All in all an excellent gameplay experience.

regarding the ending, I just think that he never finished it so there was no clear objective.

This map is another incomplete one that finished without no end just seeing the orange building texture from hammer. Appart from that it’s really well worth the download even if you might have doubt at start regarding texture and several glitches. Progression is obvious but full of trap alterning outdoor and building area and providing challenging fights again combine (you will just have mp7 and pistol) design gets better with progression and is really enjoyable without being top notch. sadly its stops abruptly…

I thought it was a pretty well-designed map. The whole squads of metro cops was a bit much, but otherwise a good progression. I did like the fact that a couple of building had multiple entrances and exits; made it feel more realistic even though you eventually end up in the same place. Too bad it’s so short/unfinished.

I liked this one. Good and varied mapping and nice architecture. It reminded me of a small rural town somewhere on the continent. If only it had been finished and turned into a full map-pack or mod.

    Wow!
I did a google search for some of my old maps and found this. I don’t even remember publicly releasing this map!
Yes, it’s unfinished, and no, I have no plans of completing it. Honestly, I just started on it one day with no goal whatsoever in mind, and kept going until I ran out of steam. It’s amazingly uplifting to hear so many positive comments on something I never intended to release. Thanks, all!

(PS: I’m working on a small mod at the moment, too.)

I think you should keep working on this one and port it to the orangebox sdk. From there you could do amazing things with this. Why not?You allready have a start with it just figure out an ending and add a few maps inbetween.

I read that Filecloud is going down, so I decided to mirror the zip here: http://www.mediafire.com/?zmmkjyhjlrn (Phillip, feel free to add this link to the downloads at the top, I’ll keep it around as long as I can)
    Thanks again for the comments!

Oh, another thing. If I can find the .vmf in my gigantic collection of backups, would anyone like to take a look at it?

  9. AI Says:

I tried the DL link, it took me to the webpage for the file, hit the DL now button and “no file”!! It wants you to sign up or regester or something like that! Is that the normal procedure on that site?? :-(

  10. andyb Says:

Yes it’s normal. Most of the download sites now want you to create an account. It’s a pain but it is free.
