Starting in a small office you must keep moving in the hope of finding an escape route.

Moving forward is actually the hardest part in this mappack, as you way is contantly blocked and you must solve the “puzzles” to move on.

You play a scientist going about his day as Black Mesa suddenly becomes infested with aliens.

Find any weapons you can and try to reach the surface.

Watch out for enemies, they come from all around you!

You play an engineer, surprise, surprise, who is going about his job when suddenly….

Upon Waking up, you need to escape and of course, being an engineer you are highly trained in crawling through air vents etc.

Follow the scientists instructions and good luck.

This is an unfinished project that Richman has decided to release.

There is no combat and I had to load a couple of maps manually.

The final 4 images were taken with cheats on.

The NewBlackMesaVille theme was pretty simple: Create a map with the feel of Black Mesa but try to make it seem new with new textures or just interesting layout.

This map was the only entry into the NewBlackMesaVille mapping competition. A few others promised to send entries, but circumstance got in the way. They all promised to release their work at some point in the future.

I have included more screenshots than I would normally for a map this size, because I took a good look around and wanted to record all the intersting points.

Be warned, there is no “actual” combat.

“The Hazardous-Course 2 is a spoof of the original “Hazard-Course” from Half-Life, which resembles the first player training levels. In contrary to this, the Hazardous-Course, as it’s name let’s suggest, is much more dangerous. Although it’s a mod for a first person shooter, the player can only wield a weapon at the designated target range. So it plays more like an adventure.”

Starting in a small lab, you need to find your way out of a section of Black Mesa.

There are plenty of enemies and obstacles in your way.

Take a good look around, as you may find some hidden caches.

Take a stroll through Black Mesa, do Dr. Arne Magnusson a favour and then take a ride on the transit system – that is if you can get it working!

But wait! There’s a little detour you have to make before you can continue.

Just a simple Black Mesa style map. Quite a few working portals and a mounted gun that you can have some fun with.

Don’t expect it to be more than 5 minutes worth of fun though.

Oh, and look out for the Gman.

Gordon returns to Black Mesa and, just as you expected, something goes wrong.

All hell breaks lose and it’s up to you to fix it.

Fortunately, fellow scientists manage to find a way to send instruction text to your HEV faceplate.

Wake up. Take a shower.

Go down the elevator and take the green truck to work.

Oh BOY! Things just took a turn for the worst.

Don’t let those pesky aliens or army grunts stand in your way!

You have been given a mission of entering a military base and destroying a Gargantua.

The base is well protected and you will need to keep your wits about you.

Intelligence suggests there are plenty of weapons and ammo within the base.

You find yourself back in Black Mesa and part of an Army grunt team, although you don’t get to meet many of them.

There’s very little objective, except keep moving forward and stay alive.

Keep looking for the lambda signs and explore every little nook and cranny

You play as a member of a Black Ops team that go into Black Mesa.

Your objective is to clean up.

As always, kill everything in your way.

Escape the evil Black Mesa.

Find your way to the small group of survivors.

But don’t expect a walk in the park!

ETC finished with Freeman heading into the teleporter. Where it took him was not revealed.

ETC 2 continues from this point.

So, where did Freeman go?

Originally, ETC stood for Earthquake Test Centre, but now that’s been forgotten.

All that matters is that you find yourself in a BM-style base with aliens and army trying to kill you.

It’s clear that you need to find a way out.

In fact, there’s a working portal, if only you could reach it!

After escaping with the scientist in Rescue 9-1-Freeman you find yourself with him dead and no where else to go but forward!

This time, you are intercepted by an old friend and that’s when things get a little tough.

As always, keep going and kill everything that is in your way.

Your objective is to reach the captive scientist and escape with him.

Of course, there are a lot of obstacles in your way.

At one point, stealth is required, otherwise your mission will be compromised.

Half-Life Back In future takes Gordon Freeman back to the Black Mesa 3 years after the “incident”.

His mission is to find crystals on Xen and send them back.

A scientist will teleport you to Xen

As the name suggest, this mod takes place through the night.

You are taken through a variety of locations, within Black Mesa and beyond.

Can you escape the influence of that trouble making Gman?

Explore the area and get the bad news.

Then do what you have to do to escape.

At the end of Half-Life, you had the choice to work for the GMan or to take a little lethal trip with some really nasty travel companions. After all you had done since the first accident in the test lab of the Black Mesa complex you really didn’t want to die now in some stupid way so you accepted the proposal, hoping secretly that you would have another occasion to screw up this strange man with his little briefcase.
