So, where did Freeman go?

My name is Jordan Freeman. My only family is my grandfather, Gordon, and he is old and sick.   Today the old man got up early,and woke me too…from the bad dreams I always have.   He took me up to the old closed area…people call it “Evil Black Mesa.”   For me it is not so bad a place.   There, I can be alone.There, the old man has taught me many things; how to handle weapons, rock-climbing, and other survival techniques.

You play Luther Johnson, a Black Mesa scientist on the day Gordon Freeman’s Experiment goes wrong.

Explore the area and get the bad news.

Then do what you have to do to escape.

You play as FBI agent Jeremy Hard, who has been sent in to Black Mesa to do something (sorry, but I didn’t pay much attention to the text on the screen).

You have Freeman’s identity card, so everybody thinks you are him.

Go do what you do best – shoot enemies and press buttons!

You play as Thomas Redgrave, a friend of Gordon Freeman, who works in different laboratories of Black Mesa on the same day of the accident.

You are taking a refresher training course when things go wrong. Do your best to survive until you meet some other scientists, who tell you exactly what you need to do.

A rather generic: “You are sent in to some base to do some thing”.

It’s not exactly Black Mesa but it looks like it.

Take your time and look everywhere.

USS Darkstar is a futuristic episode for Half-Life set on a Zoological Research Vessel.

You are Bob Dewey, Black Mesa janitor. You arrive at the research facility for another day at work: cleaning up the mess those smart ass scientists leave behind, refilling the soapboxes in the toilets, listening to Barney’s stupid jokes and reading Penthouse Magazine.

“The past is far away… The atmosphere of the earth is almost destroyed because of many terrorist chemical experiments. You’ve joined a group.. OBJECTIVE: Shut down or destroy terrorist chemical devices You were sent on a mission to take down the terrorist waste complex. But you were delayed! They put you in prison. You must find a way out of there fast before they eliminate you! Seek help. You may encounter some other dudes. But don’t shoot everything down, it might be friendly! We believe you can do it!”

Pretty much the standard mod premise: You are Gordon Freeman and you need to do what you do best: Keep moving forward, killing pretty much everything in your path.

The mod finishes when you read the text that says “The End”.

Here are all the entries for my HunterVille mapping competition. I would like to thank everybody who entered.

I consider it a HUGE success and as you will see when you play the maps, the quality and ideas were truly amazing. I had real trouble picking a winner and I suppose in many ways, that’s a great position to be in. I feel some pride in thinking that my competition has encouraged the mappers to make and release these maps.

There’s pretty much nos tory to this one. Get from where you start to the Antlion Guard arena and kill everything in your way.

Solve the puzzle to get the HEV suit and things get even harder after that.

CSS SCI FI 3: Hardwired is a single-player modification for Half-Life 2. Waking up to find himself an augmented clone of Gordon Freeman, the player must fight time-travelling Combine forces and other enemies across 42 unique and replayable missions.

Missions are set in 18 retail and 24 custom Counter-Strike: Source maps, which are installed intact to the player’s CS:S game folder. The mod edits the entity data for each map as it is loaded, adding and modifying entities to create a seamless single-player experience. The maps remain unchanged and are fully playable in Counter-Strike: Source. Maps have been contributed by established designers, including Bluestrike, Schuzak and d00ds.com. Combat locations range from a snow-covered country church to a dense pine forest to a sun-baked tropical island.

A story based mod that leads you through a variety of interesting environments to your ultimate objective.

I can’t tell you much about this mod except that it is supposed to be a leak. There are some levels from the E3 demonstration and plenty of levels I haven’t seen before.

You play as Gordon again and your objective is pretty much the same as the original game: escape the base.

The Headcrabs have evolved! Evolved with a variety of different traits. Your objective is to rid the space station OXYGENIUM of them and where ever else it takes you!

Author’s Notes: “This is a single player Half Life 2 mod, set entirely outside of City 17. It features 6 levels of action, exploring a range of locations, non-linear level progression, a musical score, some new abstract textures and challenging gameplay.
