This is a PlanetPhillip exclusive! This mod contains two maps that were built as proof of concept maps for the 99 Bolts: Chasing Winona mod.
Your main weapon, as the name suggests, is the crossbow, although you do collect other weapons on the way.
The first map is an open area with irradiated areas that you must avoid, it also contains friendly and enemy rebels. The second is a labyrinthine collection of corridors that you must traverse to get some grenades that allow your rebel friends to enter in the city.
A short single player map, where Gordon is separated from his rebel teammates and has to fight his way through a Combine controlled apartment complex.
You encounter a variety of enemies and have to be careful of any open areas.
Your objective is to find your way out of the abandoned base. You’ll need to find some batteries and Alyx even makes a brief appearance.
A short map that takes you through some early outdoor sections.
Leads you underground on your way to who knows where.
Make sure you take the gnome with you for that final victory.
Another simple arena/survial map. You fight against antlions and fast headcrabs with an AR2, both hand held and mounted
Under certain radiation exposure this artifact opens a portal. Presumably the portal will lead to another artifact in the parallel world. Mission: Enter the portal and find the artifact in the parallel world. You will receive our new development, a suit that will allow you to safely get through the portal, and theoretically protect you from possible dangers in the parallel world. Once you have found the artifact, press this button on your suit and you will get teleported back to the Black Mesa laboratory.

Infiltrate a Rebel base with a little stealth play and then clear the base of rebels and set some explosives. Can you get out in time?

Tired of hearing about mods that claim they are going to re-create the HL2 leaked beta? NO? Then is mod is absolutely, definitely, probably, maybe, possibly for you or maybe somebody you know, or a friend of somebody you know.
The first thing you need to realize about this mod is DON’T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY! It’s laughing at other mods, so sit back, get a cool drink, a pair of very dark sunglasses and play until you drop.

Surprise, surprise, you need to escape from a prison. Find the key to your cell and your journey will begin.
Look everywhere and don’t leave any crate unturned.
You even get to drive the airboat, if you can get that far, that is.
here we go again. Another prison escape. This time you get to use the Gravity Gun!
I hope you can swim, because it starts with a fall into some deep and dark water.
After that, things become a little easier, asssuming you don’t mind heights.
Starting outside a small cabin, isolated in the woods, you make your way through various areas and rooms, some with traps.
Use your observational skills to locate the solutions to puzzles and progress.
A treasure chest awaits those skilled and smart enough to find it.
Here is another short map from Miigga.
It’s no different from the others posted so far; keep going until you find the end.
No story, no clear objective, bu fun nevertheless.
Plenty of action in this one.
A set of corridors that eventually lead outside, assuming you can make it that far!
You play as a Combine soldier, who is part of a squad sent to destroy a rebel missile base.
Your objective is to set two charges deep within the base.
You will also need to stop the launch of a missile and then make a hasty escape from the base before it explodes.
There doesn’t seem to be a story but the objective is fairly clear. Get the HEV suit, find more batteries and use the elevator.
There are two puzzles and plenty of action, which should leave you wanting more.
Reach the vortigaunt for a mini-speech and the map ends.
You find yourself on a ship heading towards a small dock.
A Combine Gunship is shadowing your every move and the only thing to do is enter the barrel facility and escape using whatever means you can (conveniently) find.
A simple puzzle mod, with a little action and a brand new gameplay mechanic.
CSS SCI FI 3: Hardwired is a single-player modification for Half-Life 2. Waking up to find himself an augmented clone of Gordon Freeman, the player must fight time-travelling Combine forces and other enemies across 42 unique and replayable missions.
Missions are set in 18 retail and 24 custom Counter-Strike: Source maps, which are installed intact to the player’s CS:S game folder. The mod edits the entity data for each map as it is loaded, adding and modifying entities to create a seamless single-player experience. The maps remain unchanged and are fully playable in Counter-Strike: Source. Maps have been contributed by established designers, including Bluestrike, Schuzak and d00ds.com. Combat locations range from a snow-covered country church to a dense pine forest to a sun-baked tropical island.
A Partial conversion where the player finds out that his life and surroundings are not exactly what he expected.
You are Frank Harrison, a rebel, who lives near City 17.
You wake up and find that the Citadel looks like it is about to explode and those scientists are urging you to flee the city.

Combine forces are in the process of constructing a huge robot in an abandoned government fallout shelter outside City 17. The robot, codenamed “Das Roboss”, is the most destructive Combine creation yet. It makes Striders look like daddy long-legs.
Caught by the remaining Combine, Gordon Freeman must escape to rescue his imprisoned rebel allies. Aided by the resourceful Dawn and her insurgents, you are sprung from captivity in order to spearhead a staged breakout from the notorious Port Halen Prison.
But before you can get there you must loose your Combine pursuers and make your way through a wilderness long since overrun by the zombified.
The pack contains Black Mesa style environments, outdoor areas, driving sections and plenty of action. Without giving away any spoilers, the last map contains an innovative use of a trainyard.
You find yourself outside a deserted missile launch facility. Your objective is get in and pass through it. You encounter a small variety of enemies and need to explore to fight your route.
This mod continues from the end of Pyramid and sets the player in a world where the sea is rising.
You encounter almost all of Half-Life 2’s enemies and a great outdoor area.
There is some interesting backtracking and even a bonus map if you are lucky.
This little map is the result of a challenge I gave Dylan when he said he was bored. It’s amazing what you can do with two hours!

The death of the Nihilanth threw the Xenian army into disarray, and the subsequent portal storms stranded many on Earth in the wake of Combine occupation.
After once more having to endure existence beneath the totalitarian boot of their cosmic nemesis, they have searched for a way out. Now, buried in the heart of a dilapidated university, they’ve found it.

A partial conversion of an underground lab where scientists have been experimenting on a new drug to wipe out all forms of infection that humans can aquire.
It’s Ours Now takes place shortly after the defeat of the Combine striders at the end of Episode 2.
The level is set in White Forest at a base formerly used as a Combine base of operations.
The player must fight off the Combine that is attempting to retake the base. The objective of this level is to provide the player with a three to four minute transition between one map and another while giving the player a shooting mini-game in the process.
Want to breakout from jail and leave Alyx behind? If so, then this is the mod for you!
A very basic, linear map with a simple objective: escape.
Combine soldiers stand in your way, but don’t let them stop you.
Escape the cell and fight your way to the Gman.
Work your way from the train station to a huge Combine Facility and don’t leave until you have destroyed it!

Escape the base, not much else to say really.
I can’t tell you much about this mod except that it is supposed to be a leak. There are some levels from the E3 demonstration and plenty of levels I haven’t seen before.
Start in a lobby and explore the Black Mesa Research Facility.
Of course, you will find plenty of enemies and obstacles in your way, so move carefully and pay attention to the signs.
Only the smart and fearless will succeed!

This is a release of what seems to be a dead mod – which is a HUGE shame.
Play your way through various parts of an underground station and connected buildings.
Can you return back to the rebels and make your escape?
Only time will tell.
A very plain and simple indoor area where you have to kill some headcrabs and some Metrocops. Very clearly a first map.
You find yourself in an alley that leads to a small trainstation.
From there you need to follow the clues and reach a specific point.
Be careful because your way is blocked at certain points and the use of the airboat is recommended, although not required.
This is a map made for a mod called Afterlife that never quite made it. You mission is quite simple; after being dropped off at Ground Zero by a chopper, find a way inside the shopping center and then make you way to the roof, killing everything in your path.

You find yourself seemingly alone in an underground base, probably on Mars.
Explore the areas open to you and see what you can find.
In fact, if you look carefully the base has a few surprises and perhaps even a means of escape.
This was an entry for the SMC Mapping Competition 4.
This is another entry from the Source Modification Centre’s Mapping Competition 4.
It seems that a portal transfer went wrong or at least not as exactly planned and you find yourself in an underground base.
Find your way around and see what you can discover.
This is a mod that seems to have slipped under the radar and been more or less ignored. So far it seems a solid production and has surprised me, which is why I added the surprised face to the title image.
Your objective it to find and return an energy source back to the scientists. The map is set in a Black Mesa style base.

A curfew locks down the city, but Gordon must go through a Combine Security building in order to get across town. Because the route Gordon must take takes him through a building controlled by the Combine, the mission does not go smoothly.
A beta release, where you need to escape from a prison surrounded by ice and snow.
This modification offers a multi-level side story of Gordon Freeman while en-route to City 17 via Highway 17 in the infamous buggy.
Another escape the prison map. This one contains large Combine architecture, with long balconies from which the Combine can attack you.
It was made for an SMC mapping competition, over 4 years ago, so take that into account when reviewing it.

This is a cinematic portfolio piece. You and Alyx must support Echo Team in their attempt to attack Outpost 16.
Things don’t go quite the way you or they expected.
You have action and some puzzles to deal with, oh and don’t hang around looking at the beautiful view, if you linger you die!
The author describes this map as a “strange and hostile world where survival means fighting, fleeing, or both. Preferably onto a train.”
The map contains M.C.Escher designs and is not called Abstract for nothing. Expect to jump between various locations with no rhyme or reason.

A very simple arena style map, reading this description will almost take the same time as playing the map!

Of course, it’s not as simple as finding a key and walking out into the bright sunshine.

Provenance is a short singleplayer mod for Half-Life 2 where the player explores a section of the lab (known as Sector B) as Gordon Freeman. It’s purpose is more of a portfolio mod.
So says the author. I just wish all portfolio pieces were this good!
