Underside will tell the story of Gregory Vetker, former Black Mesa security chief, now working for Dr. Breen’s administration in City N. One fine day he was detached to City 17 with a special assignment; more details will be discovered during the game.

Although Vetker took Breen’s side once, he has maintained his contacts with rebellion side, and it can cost him dear… And there is really weird coincidence: Gregory Vetker arrives to the City 17’s trainstation in the evening of that fine day when Mr. Freeman appeared in the city…

The modification is being developed by our team for more than one year, there is a lot of work that is already done, but there are still plenty of things to do. For the benefits of development, Underside will be episodic, like Half-Life now. First episode is estimated for about 3 hours of the game. We are planning to make two more episodes after the release of the first. By the moment we have about 70% of episode 1 done; part of our team is already working at 2nd episode, so we are not about to give up everything when the first comes out :) Estimated release date of Underside episode 1 is summer 2007.
