Valve Guest Pass Draw

Introduction

Valve has recently introduced ”Guest Passes” (For more about exactly what they are please see the bottom of this post). I have a least one to give away and of course it should go to a PlanetPhillip reader. The game is Day of Defeat:Source.

First Come, First Served

I thought about offering it on a first come, first served basis, meaning the first person to ask me gets it. But that didn’t seem fair because of the varying time zones of all my readers.

Competition?

I then considered some sort of competition but again that didn’t seem fair because it would be in some way favouring certain readers.

Prize Draw

I have therefore decided to simply pull the name out of a hat (Metaphorically). If you want to be entered into the draw all you need to do is make a comment on this post.

The only rule is that you must already be a registered member of PP and have registered BEFORE the date and time of this post.

I will make the draw exactly 48 Hours from the time of this post.

Other Guest Passes

I may have other guest passes, in which case I will do something similar to the draw again.

PP Readers’ Guest Passes

If other readers have guest passes they wish to give away then we can either use this post as the focal point or I will start a thread in the forum, whichever seems the best way.

Misjudged!

If I have misjudged the demand for these passes, and there are more passes than readers who want them I will simply delete this post and hope you forget it ever appeared!

What are guest passes?

Guest passes are a new Steam feature; they are given out to users when they purchase certain products and enable them to share a temporary license for a game with their friends who do not own it. Their friends are then able to play the game for a limited time period before the pass expires. After the pass expires the friend will have the option of purchasing the full version to continue playing. Think of guest passes as a way for you to easily let your friends try out your favorite games with no commitment or expense on their part.
