For this mapping competiton, Phillip is the only judge.
However, he may call upon professional level designers to add their feedback if he feels it necassary.

Even though the last proper competition used a weapon, Phillip decided to make this one another weapon, because it seems to allow mappers the freedom they want but also some limits and focus.
Your entry must use the crossbow and be fun and exciting to play. It can be set in any environment you like, as long as it runs in EP2.
The winner will be chosen for using the weapon in an interesting way, that is fun and challenging to play. Other weapons may be used but the crossbow should be the focus of the map.
You can even think in the abstract and create something that is impossible in the real world. You may include other weapons but they must have limited ammo.
The contest lasts 40 days.

To Enter
Send an email (planetphillip@gmail.com) with your map attached and any installation instructions.
Make sure you include a readme.txt, identifying youself as the author, and any other details you feel important.
Files larger than 20MB should be uploaded to a free host first.
RulesJust so there are no misunderstandings: Please read these rules carefully
1. The map must be original and not have been released publicly before.
2. More than one entry is allowed by individual mappers or development teams, but iterations of the same map are not allowed. Maps that follow on from other maps count as part of that entry.
3. By entering the competition you grant PlanetPhillip.com the right to release the map as part of the CrossbowVille mod (which will consist of all the maps entered into the competition) All maps will be clearly credited. Your entry must NOT appear publicly before the release of the mod.
4. You MUST include one sponsor logo into your map. There is a horizontal and vertical version, in JPG and AI format, in this file: crossbowville-sponsor-logo.7z. If your entry doesn't include the logo it will not be eligible for the prizes.
5. No assets from retail games other than HL2, HL2: Ep1 or HL2: Ep2 are allowed.
6. No assets from previously released maps or mods are allowed without written permission from their original authors, which MUST be included in the entry email.
7. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
8. The map MUST have a proper name.
9. The map MUST have a proper filename: YourMapName_pp_cbville.bsp
10. You may also have the crowbar,in addition to the Crossbow and other weapons that requires ammo.
11. You may use any new assets you wish, as long as it doesn't break rules 4 and 5.

Does the crossbow have to have limited ammo?: No, only the other weapons.
Could I reskin the crossbow and pakrat it in so it doesn't overide any of the other entries'crossbow?: Yes
What about creating our own props, textures, etc? Is that allowed?: Yes
Can I change the normal specifications of the crossbow?: Yes.
Can I release WIP screenshots or start WIP threads?: Yes, although why give your competitors clues about your work!
Can I get Phillip to test my map?: No, but as much private testing as possible is highly recommended.
